Floor restoration for this in-situ poured floor involved a comprehensive process to rejuvenate its appearance and functionality. Here’s an overview: Inspection and Preparation: After assessing the floor’s condition, it was determined that standard cleaning methods were insufficient. The decision was made to refinish the surface, including the skirting, and deep clean the walls. Grinding: The top surface layer of the floor was ground off until fresh terrazzo was exposed. This step removed years of wear and tear, preparing the surface for further refinement. Honing: The honing process began to eliminate scratches and close the surface pores, gradually restoring the floor’s smoothness and luster. Polishing: Once honing was complete, the floor underwent polishing to achieve the desired level of shine and finish. This stage enhanced the floor’s aesthetics and brought out its natural beauty. Sealing: To facilitate easier cleaning and maintenance, an appropriate sealer was applied to the finished floor. This protective layer helps prevent stains and makes routine cleaning more efficient. By following these steps meticulously, the terrazzo floor was successfully restored to its former glory, ensuring both visual appeal and long-term durability.
